Meet Dr. McGlone →Medically necessary cataracts are covered by insurance. Advanced facility fees, advanced technology, astigmatism correction, and additional diagnostic testing are considered advanced/elective and are not covered — so there are no surprises later in the process.
Basic surgery uses a monofocal lens that improves clarity but still involves relying on glasses for both distance AND up close — and it does not include the advanced facility or the advanced diagnostic testing that make your procedure safer and more accurate.
